#1 – Our data strongly shows a trend with gifts from mission-driven brands. We love how consumers are leaning into their values and how they are voting with their wallets. We at To&From hope this is a trend we see forever! Every gift on the To and From site is assigned many attributes, and outside of relationship and occasion filters, social values has been the most used filter on our site – people love finding brands that meet them where their hearts are. Interests like female-founded businesses, BIPOC founded companies, or companies with sustainability as a core value have all emerged as important to our users.
#2 – We are also seeing a lot of interest in gifts that have personalization options. We’ve seen a big increase in retailers offering these services and we really want to know if it’s consumer driven or if it’s a sneaky way to reduce returns. Either way, we love it and so do our users. Our personalization filter is still new, but remains one of the most used filters on To&From since its launch.
# 3 – The third data-based trend that emerged this year is “Gifts for Together Time”. For all of the downsides, one silver lining with the Covid lockdown was the forced focus on family.
