Gifting With Impact – Brands We Love

One of the questions we get a lot is about our brands. Our users LOVE our assortment and often mention that they come to our site to find a gift, and end up buying several things for themselves. When our co-founder Bridget was dreaming up To&From, she thought it would be really cool to build an assortment of brands that stand for something. Turns out, you think it’s cool too.

So, how DO we choose our brands and product assortment? Well, we have three guiding principles that we follow. These have helped us focus our efforts on bringing you an assortment that has meaning, which we think is perfect for gifting. When adding gifts to our assortment, we ask these questions:

  1. Can you buy directly from the brand? We think this is really important. We love brands that can build a direct relationship with their consumers and think this is one of the things that makes gifting special. Being able to tell a story about how and where you discovered a brand or product and why you thought it was perfect for someone in your life amplifies the gifting experience.
  1. Is the brand mission driven? You might ask “what does ‘mission driven’ even mean?”. Well, it means something different for everyone but for us, mission driven means brands that support causes that are important to us and our fans. We love companies that include the eco-warriors, Female-founders, underrepresented founders and we’ve attributed every product in our assortment based on the mission/ethos of the company so you can filter by what is important to you. We’ve currently assorted our products based on Sustainability, Female founders, BIPOC founders and B-corps. We are just getting started, so let us know what’s important to you!
  1. The third question we ask ourselves about the gifts we choose is “Can we do a good job making gift recommendations?”. We started this company because it is so hard to find the right gift for someone. And it gets even harder when you add the complexity of gifting the right size or gifting the best experiences, that may have location and date specificity. We have big plans to attack both of these complex categories, we have started with accessorieshome and lifestyle gifts for women (primarily).

So now that you have a better understanding of the thought process that was put into our brands and product assortment, we’re confident you’ll feel good about gifting them too.
