Hosting the Ultimate Galentine’s Day Party, With Partytrick

Galentine’s Day is an absolutely delightful excuse to gather your best girlfriends for a celebration of non-romantic friendship… thanks to Leslie Knope’s holiday, courtesy of Parks and Recreation. It is an amazing, fun, and low-pressure alternative to the mainstream counterpart, Valentine’s Day. Below are a handful of tips & tricks to make the most of it so you can enjoy the process of hosting a fabulous evening with friends.

1. Use Partytrick

We’re the virtual party planner in your pocket, guiding you through the hosting journey. From what the gathering could look like (buy or DIY) to what food to serve to what cocktails/mocktails, music, activities, and more…we’ve got your back! Additionally, we send helpful emails and SMS reminders telling you exactly what to do and when to do it – a checklist is one thing, a friendly nudge is much welcomed in our busy lifestyles, amiright?

2. If you’re staying in this year:

Make it a cozy comfort food & caviar night or PJ’s and DJ’s party! Keep it simple and fun. We love adding an element of surprise like hosting a favorite things gift swap (normally done at Christmas – but isn’t it the best?!), or adding an activity like tarot card reading. Alternatively, host a bouquet bar party, try the latest trend of painting candlesticks together, or host brunch! Who says Galentine’s needs to be an evening affair? Host on the 11th or 18th and use our Galentine’s Brunch themed party.

3. If you want to go out:

As much as we love a paint-and-sip type evening with the girls, a little novelty is always fun and pushes the group to experience something new. A fun alternative activity could look like a smash room or roller skating! If you do this, we love finding ways to tie the celebration together thematically with small details like cohesive cocktail napkins, outfit elements, or even reaching out to the restaurant you made reservations to and asking them to customize a cocktail or mocktail for your group.

4. If you want to keep those New Year resolutions alive:

Host a wellness event at home! Incorporate a movement class, select healthier foods, mix up some delicious non-alcoholic cocktails, and maybe even consider another vision-boarding session.

Regardless of which route you go, gifting is one of our primary love languages and our curated giftlist has some of our fave products to gift for the hostess, for your guests, or to bring along to a favorite things gift exchange!
